About the project

Computer vision that respects your privacy

Benzo Vision is a browser-native studio for real-time vision. No servers, no telemetry, no uploads — everything happens on your device.

Why build this?

Browsers have quietly become a capable ML runtime. WebAssembly, WebGL compute, WebGPU, SIMD and worker threading mean a laptop running Chrome can do what needed a dedicated GPU five years ago. Benzo Vision is an opinionated tour of that stack: a real product, not a demo, that stays 100% on-device.

Roadmap

Shipped

v1.0 — Core tasks

Object detection, pose, hands, face. Overlay rendering, model caching, animated video export.

Shipped

v1.0 — Gesture control

Pinch, point, palm, fist and four swipe directions. Touchless record toggle.

v1.1

WebGPU delegate

Explicit WebGPU backend selection with automatic fallback and per-frame profiling.

v1.2

Worker pipeline

Move capture and inference off the main thread entirely, using OffscreenCanvas + transferable ImageBitmaps.

v1.3

Composable filter graph

Drag-and-drop node graph for chaining detections into downstream logic (counters, alerts, exports).
